YPS Board of Education

The Yukon Public Schools Board of Education (YPS BOE) members are elected to be leaders and champions for public education within our community and State. YPS BOE members are not paid and volunteer their time to serve the community and our District.

The most important responsibility of the Yukon Public Schools Board of Education is to work with our community to improve student achievement in our District. The YPS BOE derives their power and authority from the state. In compliance with state and federal laws, the YPS BOE establishes policies and regulations by which our schools are governed.

Our school board is responsible for:

  • employing the superintendent
  • adopting policies, curriculum, and the budget;
  • overseeing facilities issues; and
  • adopting collective bargaining agreements.

In this section, you can learn more about the volunteers who serve our district and community as school board members. You'll also find a list of board policies, meetings, agendas, and minutes.
